Seed of Corn July 23, 2019 T.G. Whitaker

AS A SEED OF CORN

The Lord showed me this illustration recently.  A grain of corn, or seed, produces after itself through the planting medium, or earth that it is planted in.  The corn is not of the earth but comes through the earth.  It is either nurtured and/or abused by the earth – the strength of the life in the seed enables it to withstand the conditions it grows in.  So, spiritually speaking, man’s earth-suit is the shell of the seed of Life within, and the earthly realm is the planting medium for the seed, not the origin.  The seed is not from the earth but grows through the earth.  The True Life of the seed is within it – the earth helps it come into maturity and so it may reproduce of itself.  When the seed puts forth to a good degree, the shell is consumed, for it is not needed.  The Life of the plant is sustained by the feeding and watering of the medium so that it can pull from it what is needed.  The quality of the soil or medium contributes a good degree of the promotion of the plant.  Oppression, suppression, lack of light and nutrients attempt to hinder and thwart growth, but the life within is vigorous.

Many of the called of Christ have come up in an unfavorable ground, have suffered oppression, suppression, lack of light and proper nutrients;  however, the Holy Ghost is continually brooding and watching; the Word declares our dear Lord is forever interceding for us, turning the hinderances into blessings of strength, His integrity and character, won by looking unto Him who is our victory and all in all, as we are as helpless as plants trampled by the heartless and evil principle.  In Him we shall grow and flourish and giving all the Glory to God.
